UPCOMING WORKSHOP Couples and Cinema Weekend What is It? Matthew Alexander Ph.D and Kevin Davis, LCSW, are currently offering weekend marriage enrichment workshops for couples. These innovative workshops feature the use of clips from such popular movies as the Story of Us, the Ref, Pretty Woman and Ordinary People to highlight essential elements of successful coupling. Group discussion, journaling and couples dialogue will also be used. By the end of the weekend, couples will be able to:
Who Leads It? Marriage enrichment workshops are led by Dr. Alexander and Kevin Davis, LCSW, former director of marriage and family therapy training at the United Family Services and current private practitioner. Their workshops are fun, engaging and practical. Dr. Alexander and Ms. Davis offer a combined forty-five years of experience in helping couples achieve their potential. Both have advanced training in marital therapy, work with couples extensively in their private practices and are leaders in training marriage therapists. In addition, Dr. Alexander brings his expertise in using movies for education and therapy. He is an acclaimed public speaker and author of the recently published book Cinemeducation: A Comprehensive Guide to Using Film in Medical Education (Radcliffe-Oxford, 2005).
